About Me

future PR superstar

I am a recent graduate from Purdue University, earning a degree in psychology with minors in management and sociology. My studies have allowed me understand people, our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors from how our beliefs interact with business to how our culture impacts our choices. No, I can't read your mind, but I can apply psychological facts to the communications field, which feels pretty much the same. As a lifelong learner, I'm not done yet. In the fall, I will be pursuing a master's degree in public relations at Northwestern University. 

A superstar in the making, my time as an undergraduate was spent honing in on my skills. I stay up to date on the latest PR and media trends, often applying them to my work as an intern or inside of my clubs and organizations at school. I leave my superstar mark on every project I come across, whether it be hosting one of the most popular radio shows on campus, or building a pitch-deck for a client. Through my involvement in various clubs and organizations, I have developed a strong knowledge of the PR world and gained valuable experience in the entertainment industry as an intern. 

My mission is to make an impact in the communications industry. I will strive to be a leader in the field and continue to learn more each day.

  • Captivated listeners with audio content to fill a live, one hour slot each week with variety of themes, guests, and activities.

  • Simpin' with Sarah show #13 garnered highest recorded listeners of 2021.

  • Curate spotify playlists and other collaborative promotional/social media campaigns to engage audience over rest of week. 

 

Club Executive: Treasurer

  • Managed internal communication with exec board and University, oversaw budget and records of club purchases, sponsored events, and club philanthropy.

  • Authored copy and social media posts for events resulting largest turnout since pandemic.

  • Collaborated with team of student talent buyers to book major live shows on campus including first sold-out concert since 2016.

  • Conceptualize promotional tactics to engage larger portions of student body, including interactive member takeovers and concert vlogs.

  • Reinvigorated process of booking student acts, implemented a contract, and managed communications between Purdue and talent. 

  • Predicted, monitored, and engaged in crisis communication between organization, student body, and campus news organizations. Successfully diffused negative press directed at club executives and student talent thrice during tenure.

  • Revolutionized local music scene once labeled oppressive via online outreach, event planing,  and communications skills to build underground community of music lovers amidst pandemic. 

  • Independently plan concerts, tours, and musical releases through strategic business and communications strategies involving clever branding, journalistic efforts, print materials, events, and fundraisers which have garnered over $5000 for charity. 

  • Develop business strategy for growth through clever branding and showmanship, expanding on social media an average of 150% follower and engagement increase each quarter.
